Fascia lays down to hold you in the position you spend the most time in.

Bodywork for posture issues.

When we spend log periods looking down at our phones, working at a computer desk, the soft tissues in the neck and shoulders become overstretched, weak and locked long, unable to receive the flow of nutrients and maintain strength. Myofascial pain develops which spreads over time effecting local joints and tissue.

The effect on the anterior chain is the shortening of soft tissues.

Shortness in the Scalene, pec muscles and fascia can affect:

Breathing, shoulder and arm movements especially reaching upwards, the digestive system and our moods. It is very difficult to feel open, receptive and vibrant if we are stuck looking at the floor.

Treatment?

Step1. The first step is asking for a commitment from the client to adhere to a programme. or strengthening and regular breaks from the desk.

Step 2. work with the Myofascial pain on the posterior chain.

Step 3: release the anterior chain.

Step 4. Design a strength and conditioning programme

Step 5. The client continues the work at home to mobilise and strengthen, breaking down the fascia laid down to hold the head and shoulder in a forward posture.
