About me
with Samantha James
I’m a health and wellbeing practitioner based in beautiful North Devon, where I live with my husband and our four children. My work is rooted in a deep passion for helping people move with confidence, reduce pain, and create meaningful, lasting change in their health and wellbeing.
My professional journey began in health and social care, supporting individuals through mental health services, women’s programmes, and youth outreach, before teaching life skills and wellbeing at The Amber Foundation. These experiences shaped my understanding of how life circumstances, stress, and environment impact our bodies and minds.
Over the years, I’ve combined this background with a love of movement and science. After completing a BSc in Health & Wellbeing with First Class Honours — focusing on chronic health, exercise prescription, nutrition, and behaviour change — I specialised in evidence-based rehabilitation and movement coaching. My approach blends functional strength, Pilates, and lifestyle strategies to help people manage pain, recover from injury, and thrive through life stages like menopause.
What truly lights me up is behaviour change coaching — working alongside people to uncover the “why” behind their habits and empower them to build strength, resilience, and self-belief. It’s about so much more than sets and reps; it’s about creating a sustainable, confident relationship with your body and your health.
My own experiences with perimenopause, chronic pain, and returning to study mid-life have given me a deep empathy for the ups and downs of real-life health journeys. I don’t offer quick fixes or perfection — instead, I bring compassion, integrity, and consistent, person-centred support to every client I work with.
